500 Words: “The Little Prince.”
The little prince is a little boy who left his planet to go on a journey in order to cure his loneliness after being lied to by a rose that he found.

We can easily tell that the little prince is the main character because he is the one who leads us throughout his journey as he finds meanings in life as well as see the narrow mindedness of the adults that he meets. Throughout his journey, by the words that the author had used, we can feel the little prince’s feelings of frustration because he meets people whom he doesn't understand and they do not understand him too.

For example, the little prince was displeased with the sheep that the author had drawn and requested for a sheep that he wanted. To the author, the sheep looked exactly like the sheep the prince wanted but to the little prince, the sheep he wanted did not seem to make sense to the author. When the author was frustrated and finally drew a box and told the little prince that the sheep that he wanted was in there, the little prince became happy and accepted the painting which made the author very confused. This showed us that the little prince had a different point of view then ‘normal’ working adults.

Another example would be when the prince encountered the businessman who was too preoccupied with counting the stars to be bothered with the little prince. The prince could not understand the businessman when he said that what he was doing was meaningful because the prince felt that compared to the businessman who just counted stars, he took care of the planet that he lived on and that was considered meaningful to him because he took action while the businessman was just counting away.

Without the little prince to bring us through the stories, we would not have seen the narrow mindedness of the adults in the story and we would never have understood the thoughts of the little prince and would have seen it as abnormal or weird in our point of view. However, the little prince had shown us the world in the book and from his journey by showing us his thoughts. Without his thoughts, we may have thought that the behavior that he had shown is not normal to us.

The author was successful in making us think twice about the story as well as the actions and thoughts of the little prince because he wrote the extraordinary thoughts out and successfully made us understand why the little prince thought that way. The author had made us understand that people have different thoughts and it is not abnormal to think like the little prince because the little prince thoughts were very different from how we would think in this society. The author had definitely brought out a different understanding in the society through this book and through the little prince.

Exercise 1 The twits

Evil Woman who plays tricks on her husband to get back at him.

500 words: “The Twits”
Mr and Mrs twit are easily recognized as the main character in the story because the story revolves around their pranks and wicked heart.

Mr and mrs twit are two evil married couple who play pranks on each other and do evil things. They are crucial to the story because without them and their evil pranks, this story can never be told as it revolves around their lives and how the poor animals that they had ‘tortured’ do them in. Also, without mr and mrs twit, we will not have this exciting story of how the animals manage to get their revenge on this wicked couple.

The author is very successful in telling the story with this two character. He had shown the evil part of them and their pranks, so evil that when I read it, I wished they had a bad ending, which they did in the end. Also, apart from showing the evil in them and their pranks, the author made a great ending which punished Mr and mrs twit in a great way that I believe they will never forget because even if they did want to, they couldn't because they disappeared into nothingness.

For example, Mr twit is evil and disgusting because he had thick beard and food, sauce and gravy in it which he eats when he is hungry and thinks that having beard as thick as his is a very grand and wise. The prank that he plays on his wife, mrs twit, were disgusting in its own ways. Mrs twit was no better because she had a walking stick not because she couldn't walk properly but because she wanted to use it for hitting children and dogs. Another example of how evil the twits are is that they would have bird pie every week. The method they used was evil. They would put glue on a tree and wait for birds to sit on the tree and when the birds starved and died because they were trapped, the twits would cook them and bake them into pies.

Not only that, apart from the pranks they did, the twits was cruel beings because they treated the monkey cruelly. The monkeys were forced to stand upside down for hours just for the interest of watching them suffer. This brought out the evil side of people that could be in real life.

The author did a great job in making the pranks as evil as possible because this brought out the character’s evil and wicked nature that makes the audience hate them and feel disgusted about their pranks and behavior. The thing that is really successful is when the animals gathered together to punish the twits for treating them in a cruel manner. The author had done a great and successful thing when he made the twit disappear to nothingness and thus setting free the animals. The ending will make people jump for joy and thus making the story successful.
