exercise 2 Week 2

Exercise 2 week 2

What makes a good story?

To me, a good story consists of a lovable protagonist, an interesting antagonist with interesting and humorous plans, the setting of the story and the mood of the story. Sometimes, there may even be the supporting character that brings out the interesting parts in the antagonists. Cliché scenes are also a important aspect in a good story.

A lovable protagonist is able to capture the heart of the audience. On the other hand, if the protagonist is dull and boring, the audience may just give up on reading or watching the story move on because the I feel that the portrayal of the protagonist is important when he or she is introduced to the audience.

An antagonist that comes up with plans that are humorous and interesting will pull the audience in as the story goes on because they will never know when or what the antagonist will do in order to destroy the protagonist.

The setting of the story is important because without the proper setting, the story will look boring and flat. This in turn brings down the mood of the story. Therefore, with good setting, comes with the suitable mood.

A supporting character that knows the protagonists well also plays a great part in a good story if the protagonist of the story is very unmotivated. The supporting character will do something that triggers the mood of the protagonist to do something about the situation.
