Class Exercise 1

2. Write in your blog: 
- What makes a good story? (in point form)

-characters that audience can relate to
-a good plot
-mood
-settings

3. Note the meanings/definitions of these terms on your blog:
- Screenplay - is a written work by screenwriters for a film or television program.
- Storyboard - Are graphic organizers in the form of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualising a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence.
- Plagiarism - is copying of work from another person, and claiming it as your own.
- Pitch - is the description of a potential story that a writer sends to an editor in order to land an assignment.
- Genre - a class or category of artistic endeavour having a particular form, content,technique, or the like
- Conceptualize - to form something into a concept
- Logline - a brief summary of a television program, film , or motion picture often providing both a synopsis of the program's plot, and an emotional "hook" to stimulate interest.
- Synopsis - is a brief summary of the major points of a written work, either as prose or a table; an abridgement or condensation of a work.
- 3 Act Structure - is a model used in writing and evaluating modern storytelling which divides a screenplay into three parts called the Setup, the Confrontation and the Resolution.
- Set Up, Confrontation, Resolution - how the story starts, what conflicts takes place, how the problem is resolved?
- Treatment - A written sketch outlining the plot, characters, and action for a screenplay but not including certain elements of a finished screenplay, such as camera directions and dialogue
- Storyline - plot or subplot of a story
- Motive - the goal of the person
- Conflict - to come into a collision or disagreement

1. Kevin was left behind when his family forgot about him and he protects the house from bandits that wants to kidnap him.
2.  Kevin, has to hide from the bandits when he is home alone in order not to get kidnap.
3. Kevin was left behind,forgotten by his family
     Robbers went into the house after seeing that he was home alone.
     They tried various ways to get kevin but kevin manages to protect himself by using various methods.
     He successfully protects himself from the bandits till his parents comes home.

1. A man who specializes in moving goods, gets involve in a kidnap of a young child of someone powerful.
2. Frank martin has to protect the child and keep him from being kidnapped.
3. Frank is hired to keep a child safe.
    He is confronted by people who wants to kidnap the child
    He has to be alert and fight back in order to protect the child

1. Two men needs to keep the aliens under wrap by fighting them and by doing so, they protect the earth.
2. Men in black, motive is to fight the aliens and protect the earth.
3. The best of the best are hired to fight the aliens that are around earth.
    They are confronted by aliens which comes in different shapes and sizes.
    The conflict they face are that they can't tell an alien from a normal human that easily
    Also, they were attacked by a huge bug-like alien
    They kill the alien and manages to save the earth from coming to any more harm.
